When it comes to popular tourist cities in Japan, what comes to your mind?
While major cities like Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto are often the first ones that come to mind, Nagoya, a little off the beaten path from the major cities, is also worth considering! Located in the Chubu region of Japan, Nagoya is a vibrant city that not only boasts historical landmarks but also offers a rich array of pop culture.
Introducing "Motion.," a trendy Korean-style cafe in Nagoya. We'll showcase a cafe that exudes a stylish and modern atmosphere, distinct from typical Japanese cafes!
A serene space with eye-catching pink neon lights.
Upon entering the establishment, you'll notice a pink neon sign that reads "Motion.," but curiously, the logo is inverted. The reason for this inversion stems from a desire to overturn the conventional notion of coffee being associated with formality, aiming instead to encourage customers to casually enjoy their coffee.
"Motion." was created based on the concept of being a place where new values can be created and experienced. The interior design reflects a collaborative effort between designers and staff, with numerous ideas coming together through trial and error.
The space features a predominantly white color scheme accented by delicate gray marble-like patterns, creating a cozy and inviting ambiance.
The photogenic menu is filled with a myriad of carefully crafted items, each with its own unique touch!
The popular original latte at Motion., called the "Motion. Latte," is a cute pink drink that's also Instagram-worthy.
The pink color of this drink comes from an unexpected source: beets! Beets are consumed in North America and Australia and are known for their high nutritional value and beauty benefits.
This latte boasts a refreshing sweetness that highlights the natural flavor of the beets, with a hint of spiciness from ginger powder adding an extra kick.
Another treat to enjoy alongside your drink is the carefully crafted canelé. Supervised by a chef from a French restaurant in Tokyo, these sweets are handmade in-house. With their chewy texture and delightful flavor, canelés pair perfectly not only with the Motion. Latte but also with cafe lattes that offer a creamy milkiness!
All the drinks and food served at Motion. are made with the intention of providing both enjoyment and nutrition.
The pour-over coffee, meticulously brewed by hand, offers several varieties of coffee beans for both hot and iced options. With suggestions from the barista staff, you might just find your favorite coffee to complement your experience.
Be sure to explore and find your perfect pairing!
